About the retreat
In this special weekend retreat, Gen Sanden will bring back inspiration from the teachings and meditations at the NKT-IKBU International Summer Festival in the UK. The subject is Mahamudra meditation and the retreat will enable us to take these precious instructions to heart.
The Mahamudra meditations taught by Buddha are simple yet powerful methods for accessing the space-like clarity of our mind. These techniques help us to maintain the peace and bliss of a pure mind, even in the face of life’s ordinary worries and frustrations. Step by step, meditating on the pure nature of our mind leads to the recognition of our subtle mind, and then to the manifestation of liberating wisdom (bliss!). Effective Mahamudra meditation eventually reveals the true nature of reality and the swiftest path to full enlightenment.
This retreat – one of many being offered simultaneously around the world – will help deepen the experience of those who attended the Summer Festival as well as give an opportunity to those who couldn’t travel there to connect to the life changing experience of that event!
Everyone is welcome to this retreat.
Gen Kelsang Sanden is a Canadian Buddhist monk, and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Vancouver. He has been a long time student of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, the founder of the New Kadampa Tradition. He is well loved for his compassion, sense of humour and the clarity of his teachings.
Gen Sanden taught at KMC Fraser Valley since its inception; we are looking forward to welcoming him back for this weekend retreat.
