About the course

In our daily life we often get caught up in the storms of frustration, craving and confusion. These powerful states of mind, whether our own or others’, cause us to lose our balance; we find ourselves searching for happiness where it can’t be found – in work, food, entertainment, or just keeping busy – in an attempt to re-establish inner peace and balance.

Buddha explained how to free ourselves from this craziness by establishing internal spiritual realizations and insights. Learn how to do this on this special day course where Gen Delek will introduce Buddhist refuge: how to rely upon Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.

On Saturday morning, Gen Delek will give teachings and guide meditations on the meaning of Buddhist refuge. In the afternoon will be a Refuge Vow Ceremony for those who wish formally to take refuge vows.

Sunday 10th is a day when we always engage in the prayers called Offering to the Spiritual Guide. People often request an explanation of these prayers, so Gen Delek will give an explanation on Sunday morning and this will be followed by the prayers themselves. We thought it an ideal way to round off a weekend on refuge.
